A Family Area will be included in each patient room that:
Offers comfortable space for family and visitors to stay in the room with their loved one.
Allows family to hear directions for care from doctors and nurses.
Enhances relationships between patients, families and caregivers.
Includes a separate TV for the family zone.
Includes a sofa that converts to a bed.
Offers a large window for maximum natural light with black out shades
The Nursing Units in the new MTMC provide:
Smaller central nurses stations to reduce noise.
Nurse alcoves (work stations) outside patient rooms to bring caregiver closer to patient resulting in more patient-centered care and reduces amount of travel distance.
Windows outside each patient room with privacy blinds allowing the caregiver to view patients while charting and rounding thus creating more opportunities to observe patients and potentially reduce patient falls.
More accessible supplies for each patient room for faster response to patient needs and more effective and efficient use of resources.
